15 Hadith For Friday

Here are 15 Hadith related to Friday:

1. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) talked about Friday and said, "There is an hour on Friday, and if a Muslim gets it while offering Salat (praying) and asks something from Allah (The Exalted), then Allah will definitely meet his demand." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

2. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Increase your supplications for me on the day and night of Friday. Whoever blesses me once, Allah will bless him ten times." (Sunan Ibn Majah)

3. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Among the best of your days is Friday; so supplicate Allah more often for me in it, for your supplications will be displayed to me." They asked: "O Messenger of Allah! How will our blessings be displayed to you when your decayed body will have mixed with the earth?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "Allah has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of Prophets." (Abu Dawood)

4. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "On Friday, there is an hour when, if a Muslim happens to pray and ask for something from Allah, Allah would definitely meet his demand." And he pointed with his hand to illustrate the shortness of that time. (Sahih al-Bukhari)

5. Ibn 'Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it." (Sahih Muslim)

6. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "When Friday comes, the angels sit at the doors of the mosque and record the people in the order of their arrival. The Imam is given a scroll in which to record the names of the people in the order of their arrival. All this is done before the Imam comes out to deliver the Khutbah (sermon)." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

7. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Any person who takes a bath on Friday like the bath of Janaba and then goes for the prayer (in the first hour, i.e., early), it is as if he had sacrificed a camel (in Allah's cause); and whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he had sacrificed a cow; and whoever goes in the third hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a horned ram; and if one goes in the fourth hour, then it is as if he had sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour, then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the Imam comes out (i.e., starts delivering the Khutbah), the angels present themselves to listen to the Khutbah." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

8. Jabir ibn 'Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The best day on which the sun rises is Friday. On it, Adam was created, on it he was made to enter Paradise, and on it, he was expelled from it." (Sahih Muslim)

11. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "When it is Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow, then a ram, then a chicken, then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for the Friday sermon) they (i.e., angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutbah." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

12. Ibn 'Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The example of the one who remembers his Lord in comparison to the one who does not remember his Lord is like that of a living creature compared to a dead one." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

13. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "We (Muslims) are the last (to come) but (will be) the foremost on the Day of Resurrection though the former nations were given the Holy Scriptures before us. And this was their day (Friday) the celebration of which was made compulsory for them but they differed about it. So Allah gave us the guidance for it (Friday) and all the other people are behind us in this respect: the Jews' (holy day is) tomorrow (i.e., Saturday) and the Christians' (is) the day after tomorrow (i.e., Sunday)." (Sahih al-Bukhari)

14. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "When it is Friday, the angels stand at every door of the mosque and write down the names of the people in the order of their arrival, and when the Imam sits (on the pulpit) they fold up their scrolls and get ready to listen to the sermon." (Sahih al-Bukhari)
